Robby Lyons, driver of the No. 42 Chevrolet Silverado for Chad Finley Racing in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series, was going to race at Texas Motor Speedway. Lyons is best friends with NASCAR Xfinity driver Garrett Smithley. Smithley was racing both the Xfinity and Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series races, but Smithley wanted to do triple duty, so Lyons decided to be a great friend and let Smithley race in the 42 truck.
Smithley started 25th and finished 15th. Chad Finley Racing has only raced three races so far this season (Daytona, Atlanta, and Texas).
After Finley's race at Atlanta, the CFR hauler had gotten into an accident on their way out of the Atlanta Motor Speedway racetrack and had received quite a lot of damage. When they had their accident, Finley's Atlanta truck came unloose and hit Lyons' Vegas truck to unfortunately make it so Lyons' couldn't race at Vegas. Chad Finley Racing has been working hard to get back on track, and to get a top 15 at Texas Motor Speedway. Hopefully, when Lyons gets back on the race track in the No. 42 truck, the only thing to come for him now is good luck.
