Timothy Peters, part-time driver in the 23 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series for GMS Racing, started 9th at Martinsville Speedway as the 4 of Todd Gilliland was on the pole. After winning at Talladega in the 25 truck for GMS Racing and saying he's not going to race any races for the rest of the season, Peters comes back to race at Martinsville in the 23 truck for GMS Racing.
With 10 laps to go in the first stage, the caution comes out for the 33 of Chad Finley crashing hard into the wall, Peters is 7th. At the end of the first stage, lap 55/200, Peters finishes 8th as his teammate the 21 of Johnny Sauter wins the stage.
On lap 62, the caution comes out for the 52 of Stewart Friesen spinning around, Peters is 6th. At the end of the second stage, lap 105/200, Peters finishes 7th as the 21 of Sauter wins the second stage.
On lap 153, the caution comes out for the 83 of Dawson Cram spinning out, Peters is 13th. On the restart, the 98 of Grant Enfinger and the 99 of Chase Purdy goes spinning around to bring out the caution, Peters is 15th.
At the end of the race, out of 200 laps, Peters finishes 10th as the 21 of Sauter wins the race. Hopefully, Peters can get a full-time ride with GMS next year!

Timothy Peters, part-time driver in the #25 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series for GMS Racing, started 3rd at Talladega Superspeedway as the 51 of David Gilliland was on the pole.
At the end of the first stage, lap 20/94, Peters had finished 19th (fell to the back so he would try not to be in any wrecks) as the 98 of Grant Enfinger won the stage. At the end of the second stage, Peters had pitted for strategy before the stage ended, as the 4 of Todd Gilliland won the stage. Because Peters pitted before the end of the stage, on lap 47 when they had started going, Peters was in the lead.
On lap 49, Peters got passed by the 98 of Enfinger for the lead. Also on lap 49, the caution came out for the 20 of Tanner Thorson spinning out, Peters restarted 6th. On lap 60, the caution came out for the 88 of Matt Crafton, 54 of Bo LeMastus, 41 of Ben Rhodes, 47 of Chris Fontaine, 2 of Spencer Gallagher, 75 of Parker Kligerman, 45 of Justin Fontaine, 8 of John Hunter Nemechek wrecking and the 33 of Robby Lyons also got some damage, good news, Timothy Peters is not in it!
On lap 82, the 4 of Gilliland goes wrecking into the wall, caution is out. On the last lap, Peters is second, right behind the 18 of Noah Gragson. Peters tries to pass him, around goes Gragson, 7 of Korbin Forrister, 22 of Austin Wayne Self, and a few others collected as well.
Timothy Peters goes on to win the race!!!
Peters loses his ride in the 17 truck, gets a ride in the 99 truck and goes flipping, gets two rides in the 02 truck and finishes 11th and 10th, and gets a few rides this season with the 92 truck, then gets three rides in the 25 truck and finishes 4th, 19th, and WINS!
Peters is the only person to get 3 wins at Talladega in the NASCAR Truck Series.
Here's what they said in Victory Lane:
Hermie Sadler (reporter): "Timothy Peters, you are a three time winner at Talladega. It all came down to a last lap pass of the 18 crew chief Jerry Baxter, what a team you guys are making, it all came down to a pass on the backstrech. Walk us through what happened."
Timothy Peters: "Thank you GMS, Mike Beam, Jerry Baxter, this whole 25 bunch. GMS for fast shop. I mean, you kinda get lit up on that last lap, I hope everyone's ok. I hate the cause of that. But we were going for the win, this is my last ride in the Kingman Chevrolet. Thanks to allegiant, ISM connect, breast cancer awareness month, uh, recognizing a lot of people near and dear to me. Hermie, I don't know what to say man."
Sadler: "I know all these wins mean a lot and they're all big. But this what you've been through, to be on the sidelines, be in a kind of truck like this, to get back to victory lane. Does this mean maybe a little bit more to you?"
Peters: "It means a lot. Just thank Mike Beam for giving me that call and my wife Sara, I love you *Timothy kisses his hand and blows it for Sara*, all the kids back at home, uh, man I tell ya, a lot of people have helped me get to this point. Berry Nelson, you're one of them, thank you, and uh, I mean God is good."
Sadler: "Timothy Peters, he is back in victory lane at Talladega."
This is Timothy Peters' last race of the season. Glad he won it.

Timothy Peters, part-time driver in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in the 92 Ford Fusion truck for Ricky Benton Racing, qualified for the race at Bristol Motor Speedway but was unfortunately the DNQ (Did Not Qualify). Peters lost his ride for Red Horse Racing last year after the first 5 races.
Peters got a ride in the 99 truck and went flipping. Peters also got 2 other rides last year in the 02 truck and got decent finishes. Ricky Benton Racing announced Peters would race part-time for them in the 2018 season. Peters has qualified for 5 races so far for Ricky Benton Racing this year, including 3 truck races and 2 NASCAR Monster Energy Cup races.
Unfortunately, Peters was the DNQ for 2 of the Truck races and 1 of the Cup races. The 2 races he was able to race include, Trucks: Martinsville (finished 7th) and Cup: Talladega (Cup debut, finished 23rd). Peters deserves a full-time ride in the Truck Series that is capable of winning. In the Truck Series, Peters has had 10 wins, 57 top 5s, 123 top 10s, 8 poles, and has led 1,559 laps. You can't tell me he doesn't have talent, I mean, come on.
Will Peters get a full-time ride next year? With a different team? A top team? Only time will tell.

Timothy Peters, driver of the 92 NASCAR Cup car for Ricky Benton Racing, made his Cup debut at the Talladega race in 2018 and finished 23rd. Ricky Benton Racing came back with Timothy Peters in the 92 for the Daytona Cup race in July. At Daytona International Speedway, there was 41 cars in the entry list, and one driver and their team would be sent home and have a Did Not Qualify (DNQ), because at the Daytona race there can only be 40 cars racing in the race.
Unfortunately, Peters was the DNQ, after the 62 of Brendan Gaughn went, he beat Peters in qualifying and Peters had to be the DNQ. Peters has usually been racing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. In 2016, Peters had a full-time ride in the truck series with Red Horse Racing and had finished 4th in the playoff standings. In 2017, Peters had raced the first 5 races (Daytona, Atlanta, Martinsville, Kansas, & Charlotte) and then Red Horse Racing had announced that they were quitting their team.
Peters was left with no team to drive for then the 99 team announced they will have him in their truck for two races. Peters raced at Texas Motor Speedway, and went flipping in the air. After Texas, Peters never had his second race for the 99 team. A while later, Peters raced in the 02 truck for Tyler Young Motorsports at Las Vegas and Homestead. And in 2018, Ricky Benton Racing had announced that he would race in their 92 NASCAR truck for a few races.
One of those races included Martinsville Speedway (where he finished 7th). Peters had another truck race this year but qualifying got rained out so he was the DNQ. Peters made his Cup debut at Talladega for Ricky Benton Racing (and finished 23rd) and then he was the DNQ for the Daytona Cup race in July.
Peters will have a few more races with Ricky Benton Racing in the 2018 year, hopefully he won't get anymore DNQs. Hopefully, Peters can get a good full-time ride next year in 2019 in the NASCAR Truck Series that he can win races with and get top 10s (maybe with Ricky Benton Racing - who knows). Peters has plenty of talent.
