America's Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway
August 12, 2019
Bristol, Tennessee is a small town located on the border of Tennessee and Virginia. It is home to one of the most well-known short tracks in all of NASCAR and America’s Night Race. Coming up the weekend of August 15-18, teams will make the short three-hour journey north for a weekend packed full of racing and experience.
If you are a fan of NASCAR, it is well known that you should attend Bristol Motor Speedway for the action and the tempers that may flare. There are many other experiences you could have at Bristol as well.
With the week beginning on Sunday, August 11, camping opens for fans who want to enjoy the whole week at the track. The track then holds a Race Party located in Kingsport, Tennessee at 6:00 pm Monday. This allows fans already at the track to get in on the action with a shuttle service to the event. This free event allows fans to get to know one another and prepare for the racing ahead.
The events leading up to America’s Night Race do not stop there. With another Race Party being held Tuesday, August 13, this time in Johnson City, Tennessee. This Party includes music, kids activities, a bike ride through Johnson City, and appearances by Kyle Petty, NASCAR driver Chad Finchum, and the Dimestore Cowboys.
Wednesday just keeps the party going moving to downtown Bristol with the Food City Family Race Night. Lining the streets with race cars, food trucks, music, activities, and your favorite NASCAR drivers. With shuttles being offered from the track and parking located close by drivers attending the night this year include No. 81 Jeffrey Earnhardt, No. 0 Garrett Smithley, No. 35 Joey Gase, and more. If you do not catch your favorite driver here, there are plenty of opportunities offered around town from the drivers themselves.
Racing begins on Thursday with the Gander Outdoor Truck Series practice beginning at 9:05 am followed by Xfinity Series practice, and the NASCAR K & N Pro Series practice. Bristol is still sticking to being a fan favorite by allowing fans to meet their favorite Xfinity drivers at 3:30 pm. Racing begins at 6:15 pm Thursday with not one, but two races starting with the K & N Pro Series Busch Beans 150 followed by UNOH 200 NASCAR GOTS. Musical duo Big and Rich are at the Earnhardt Campground to end the night.
Racing continues into Friday with the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series taking to the track for practice and the track holding a special Live Auction for Children’s Charities. The night starts with qualifying for both the Xfinity cars and MENCS cars, closing out with the Food City 300 NASCAR Xfinity Series race. If you're interested in Foam Parties after the race you can catch one at the Trackside live stage, only if you are 18 and up though.
Saturday is the final day to catch up on racing with the biggest event of the weekend. With the day offering Track Walks/Tours, Pre-race Concerts, Cornhole Tournaments, TweetUps, and finishing off with the Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race.
Next season, Bristol is moving into the Playoffs. If you are interested in crossing this race off of your racing bucket list, you can be "First In Line" to purchase tickets when they go on sale by signing up here.
More information about the events throughout the week can be found here while Campground Concert information can be found here.
