Hello race fans! I'm Erica Stubbs from Baltimore, Maryland.
I used to be one of those people who would turn on the television on a Sunday afternoon looking for a good movie and “that sport where the cars just drive around and around in circles forever and ever” was on. I would immediately change the channel. I would think “how much fun could that be?”.
A few years later, through my son, I came into contact with NASCAR a different way. I took him to a Cracker Barrel and he decided he wanted to buy 3 small cars, which turned out to be the #88, #7, #48 (and later the #24). Returning home, he realized that he enjoyed watching the REAL #24 race on TV. Sometimes I would watch with him but only in short spurts, however, I became fascinated by the pit crews!
Several months later I decided that I would take my son to a race. We went to the May 2015 race at the Monster Mile and that was all she wrote.
Now I am a NASCAR fan with a special fondness for the #48 and #43. I'm looking forward to covering the #43 this year for NASCARFemale (the most amazing lady NASCAR fans on earth!!)
And to think, it all started in a Hampton, Virginia Cracker Barrel.
